Two weeks 'til BUCS

Hi everyone

Great to see everyone back at training, and I've been impressed with the turnouts. The snow is gone and it seems a bit warmer, so let's keep it going!

This upcoming week is the second to last week before OUCCC's biggest race this term, the British Universities Championships (BUCS). So it's the last week you can get some real quality training in. Do it!

This email:

1. Training this week
2. RAF Halton
3. Discounted tickets for OUCCC at St Hugh's Ball!

1. Training this week

Training continues to follow the standard pattern:

Mon 5:15pm - steady run from Radcliffe Camera, 40-50 mins
Mon 6pm - circuits at Iffley Road sports hall with OUAC
Tues 1pm - grass reps at Uni Parks
Weds 1pm - steady run from Rad Cam, 40 - 50 mins
Thurs 1pm - tempo run at Uni Parks
Sat 10am - hills session at South Parks (spikes advisable, it's muddy)
Sun 10 am - long run from Radcliffe Camera, 70+ mins

Hopefully all the girls in the club are on the women's mailling list (you're meant to be added automatically) but in case you're not, Claire Baudouin (claire.baudouin@pmb.ox.ac.uk) has been taking a separate slower group on Sunday mornings (followed by brunch) as some of the girls were saying the runs were too fast. So if you've found Sunday runs too fast in the past try coming along again, you might find this new group is perfect for you. Guys too - it's not exclusively for girls.

If you're a girl and haven't been receiving Claire's emails let me know and I can add you to the women's maillist.

2. RAF Halton

Well done to our representatives at the race last Wednesday hosted by the RAF and also featuring athletes from the fire service, civil service and others. Women's results (32 competitors):

17th Maire Gorman 29:37

Men's results (102 competitors)

51st Chris McGurk 43:33
55th Ed Nicholas 44:03

3. Discounted tickets for OUCCC at St Hugh's Ball!

OUCCC's very own Danny T has secured athletics and cross-country club members discounted £76.50 tickets to the St Hugh's Ball (normal price £85). It would be a great night if we could plenty of us down there...
